Filler Injections
Filler Injections
As a result of extraordinary developments in medical science, the prolongation of life expectancy has led to the desire of individuals to look younger. For this reason, the processes to improve wrinkles, folds, loosening and sagging of the skin due to aging have gradually increased. Aging is actually a change in the aesthetic contours of the face (convex and concave structures) with a decrease in facial fat in some anatomical areas (such as the temporal region) and an increase in certain anatomical regions (such as under the chin). The reduction of bone and cartilage tissues over time (such as drooping of the tip of the nose, reduction of the cheekbones) in aging has an important role. For example, with the effect of age-related resorption of the mandibular bone and gravity, the superficial fat compartments in the mid-face droop down leading to the disappearance of youthful jaw line appearance and marked appearance of Marionette lines in the lower face area.
Dermal fillers are injected in order to increase the soft tissue, and it is one of the most important procedures performed with this indication. Filler injections has essential advantages compared to surgical procedures. These can be listed as being more economical and applicable in the practice, not requiring post-treatment care, not staying away from work and social life, and having minimal side effects. It can be used in many indications such as the treatment of scars and atrophic areas, filling and contouring the lips and malar areas, as well as eliminating the loss of volume as a consequence of aging. However, in some individuals, filler injections can be applied to delay surgical approaches or to augment the effect of these treatments.
